Education > Millennium Development Initiative
The Empathy Project's Millennium Development Initiative has emerged as a response to the United Nations Millennium Summit, which brought together world leaders from over 185 nations to New York. The Millennium Summit led to the Millennium Declaration, which have been translated into the Millennium Development Goals. Since then, the United Nations have been working through its network in all nations and continents to ensure the realization of the MDGs in every nation by 2015.
In response to this call, The Empathy Project launched a new stage of the development of its mission and programs to support the United Nations in achieving the Millennium Development Goals as well as Education For All. The initiative is designed in such a manner that the global development divide can be overcome, and a new world emerges, in which everyone can live in freedom, harmony, cooperation, and co-prosperity. The Millennium Development Initiative also includes the advocacy for the renewal of every nation and supports the call for a renewed United Nations, whereby educators and non-governmental ambassadors with other leaders play central role in global issues of development, in order to bring about a new world without borders.
